hello, everyone, so nice to meet you! here’s a quick but about me and my mission. i’m erin. welcome to Short and Sweet of Perfection!
I am a married mama of two and a middle school teacher. I have lived in Minnesota all of my 30ish years and am Midwestern through and through. I love me a good hot-dish, fall weather along the North Shore, and long Minnesota good-byes. My husband and I have two kiddos, Jules and Odi (learn more about our cute little family here!). We own a small hobby farm with a menagerie of pets and livestock. Raising my kids to be decent human beings and doing projects around our hobby farm are what I love. You will usually find me consumed with what’s at the forefront. I tend to roll with the Minnesota seasons and focus on the present, whether that be a kiddo’s science project, planting a garden, whooping it up for the holidays, or tackling a large scale DIY project.
my mission
So what exactly is Short and Sweet of Perfection all about? What’s my twist and how is this blog different than other’s? Welp, my stories and posts are alllll about just that…the sweetness of falling short of and never really reaching “perfection”. Just like many of you, I am one to drool over other’s pins and Instagram posts, pin and screenshot like crazy, wish upon a star, and dream like crazy about the flood of perfection that is plastered all over social media. But whenever I finally get motivated to actually attempt to replicate these lovely inspirational posts, with all the confidence and research in the world, I still run into bumps, bruises, [crashes and burns], and end up with a finished product nowhere near the original inspo post. (But it’s still okay and I love it just the same!)
Short and Sweet of Perfection is here to be realistic and honest. Do not expect perfection around here. Expect to see posts with unedited, less than attractive photos. (Because around here all I have is an old iPhone.) Expect to read about grand ideas and all the mistakes and struggles we encounter along the way! Expect to read about our rough, raw, and roller coaster ride of a realistic life.
There ya have it! That’s enough about me and mission here at Short and Sweet of Perfect. The bottom line is this: I hope you not only learn a few tips and tricks while perusing Short and Sweet of Perfection, but get a few good laughs, as well. I hope you feel at home here, comfortable here, and come back here often.
